Robert E. Price, 85, of Andover Township, died Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Andover Subacute & Rehabilitation Center in Andover Township.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Robert lived in Staten Island and Ringwood before moving to Andover Township in 1976. He was a history teacher at Sussex Tech in Sparta for 25 years before his retirement in 1996. A former coach at Sussex Tech, Robert was the coach for the bowling team, as well as the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams and was the founder of all three programs. The bowling team was both the SCIL Champs and the State Champs. Robert was the first inductee into the Sussex Tech Hall of Fame.

The son of the late Charles E. and Henrietta (nee Miller) Price, Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol H. Price; his sons, Robert C. Price and wife, Nancy, of Hampton Township, and Jonathan T. Price of Sparta; his grandchildren, Robyn, Robert and Alexander; his great-grandson, Royce; and two step-grandchildren, Kristen and Kenneth Iosco.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, New York. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
