Obituary

Robert E. Butera, 80, of Branchville, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at home.

Born in Orange, Robert grew up in Morristown and graduated from Morristown High School. He had lived in Branchville since 1960. A United States Army veteran, Robert proudly served from March 12, 1956, to March 11, 1958. He was
a self-employed commercial artist and graphic designer with Robert Butera & Associates in Branchville for over 50 years before his retirement in 1998. He was an avid reader who enjoyed woodworking, cars and mowing the lawn. Robert was a heart transplant recipient fifteen years ago.

The son of the late Vincent and Florentine (nee Perrault) Butera, Robert was also predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Deiulio, on May 4, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gayle; his two children, Dean Butera and wife, Hilary, of Lawrenceville and Mary Ellen “Mel” Daniels and husband, Tony, of Branchville; four grandchildren, Kyle and Sam Butera and Meredith and Lenna Daniels; as well as one brother, Richard Butera of Sparta.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, followed by a 4 p.m. memorial service, also at the funeral home.
