John Leslie Babbitt, 69, of Moore Township, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey, John grew up in Morris Plains, New Jersey, and was a resident of Newton, New Jersey, for 36 years before moving to Moore Township. He was the former owner/operator of Creative Carpentry in Newton. An avid hunter and fisherman, John enjoyed woodworking and working on engines.

The son of the late Arnold and Marion (Shank) Babbitt, John was also predeceased by his brother, Bobby Seal. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laurie I. (Rattner) Babbitt; his daughter, Dana Babbitt and Jason Deppner of Salisbury Township, Pennsylvania; his son, Greg Babbitt and wife, Jessica, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania; as well as his five grandchildren, Connor, Jason, Evan, Ainsley and Audrey. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronnie Babbitt and Gary Clay, and his sister, Eileen Russo.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of John’s Life on Saturday, December 14, 2019, between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. at the North Shore House,
912 Swartswood Road, Newton, New Jersey.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, New Jersey.
