Brenda A. Casterline, 76, of Newton, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton.
Born and raised in Newton, Brenda lived in the Paulinskill Lake section of Stillwater Township for 47 years before moving to Bristol Glen in Newton two years ago. She was a 1960 graduate of Newton High School. A former nurse at Newton Memorial Hospital, Brenda retired after 42 years of service. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilting and cross-stitching. She also loved to travel.
The daughter of the late William and Elizabeth P. (nee Palmer) Ayers, Brenda was also predeceased by her husband, Charles Casterline, Sr., in 2008; a son, C.J. Casterline, in 2011; and a grandchild, Cory Casterline, in 1996. She is survived by her children, Todd Casterline and wife, Sandy, of Hampton Township, Terry Kent and husband, Martin, of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Kyle Casterline and wife, Kimberly, of Ottsville, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Janice Depuy and husband, Bob, of Forrest Hill, Maryland, and Jean Pompilio and husband, Nick, of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, followed by a 7 p.m. service, also at the funeral home.
